The S’Olivar estate is a private and peaceful 60,000 m2 valley where intimacy and spectacular mountain and sea views are combined at the same time. It is nestled in the widest valley of Estellencs, a privileged corner in terms of scenic beauty and environmental protection on the shores of the Mediterranean and at the foot of the majestic and magical Galatzó, in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana. It was declared a World Heritage Site in 2011 in the category of Cultural Landscape, for its millenary marjades (terraces) that prevent erosion and make cultivation possible. In particular, the cultivation of the spectacular centuries-old olive trees of the Serra.
It is a millenary ecological agricultural estate of dry stone marges that support the marjades, centenary olive trees, fig trees, almond trees, carob trees and a forest of holm oaks and pines. Already in the 12th century there was one of the houses and chapels that have been restored to provide the comfort and quality required for the granting of the agritourism licence. But S’Olivar is not only an environmental sanctuary, but also a spiritual one. With its ensemble of buildings, it has been the headquarters of the Fundació S’Olivar since 1992. A cultural foundation whose three objectives are solidarity, spirituality and ecology.
The village of Estellencs, where there are several restaurants, is a five-minute walk away (about 600 metres). Estellencs is located about 300 metres above the level of its cove, where its clean waters invite you to swim for many months of the year. There are also many attractive mountain routes. From the peak of Galatzó (1025 metres) you can see almost the entire island.
